Why I use art in coaching?

Art-making activates motor, sensory, and emotional systems simultaneously. Movement and touch engage the cerebellum, thalamus, and motor cortex, helping to shift the body out of a state of freeze or avoidance and into active coping.  Art-making engages the amygdala and limbic system, where emotional memories are stored  Because art is symbolic, and emotions can be accessed without being overwhelming, allowing fear response to soften over time.
